Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 01, 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how One2Two Platform ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the one2two.co.tz website and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. By continuing to use the Service, you consent to the placement and reading of cookies and similar technologies in accordance with this Policy, to the extent required by applicable law.

  • Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
  • A cookie typically contains two pieces of information: a site name and a unique user ID. Once a cookie is placed on your device, it will be recognised on your return visits to that site.
  • We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service, as well as optional analytics cookies that require your explicit consent before they are activated.
  • You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of this website.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

We may use the following types of technologies across the Service:

  • Session cookies: temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser only until you close your browser. They are essential for enabling you to move around the Service and use its features (e.g., staying logged in during your visit).
  • Persistent cookies: these remain on your device for a set period (defined in each cookie table below) or until you manually delete them. They are used to recognise you when you return and remember your preferences (e.g., language selection, consent state).
  • Local Storage / Session Storage: HTML5 storage APIs used by modern browsers to store data client-side. These work similarly to persistent cookies but can hold larger amounts of data.
  • Pixel tags / web beacons: tiny transparent graphic files used to understand how users navigate through the Service (e.g., clicking buttons or links), combined with analytics cookies.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

We group cookies into the following categories. In line with the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), GDPR (2016/679), and the Tanzania Data Protection Act, 2024, Strictly Necessary cookies are activated automatically and do not require your consent. Analytics and Marketing cookies are activated ONLY after you provide explicit opt-in consent via the cookie banner on your first visit.

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the Service will not then work.

Cookie Name Provider Purpose Retention Category
XSRF-TOKEN one2two.co.tz (Laravel) CSRF protection. Ensures that POST/PUT/DELETE form submissions to the Service originate from the actual authenticated user, preventing Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. Session (expires when you close your browser). Strictly Necessary
one2two_session one2two.co.tz (Laravel) Maintains your authenticated session state as you navigate between pages. Required for login, subscriptions, offer creation, and all user-account features. Session (or up to the configured Remember-Me lifetime when Remember Me is ticked at login). Strictly Necessary
one2two_cookie_consent one2two.co.tz Stores your cookie-consent decision (a JSON record of which non-essential categories you accepted/rejected, plus timestamp and banner version). Set immediately when you click Accept / Reject / Save Preferences in the banner. 182 days (6 months). After this period the consent banner will be shown again on your next visit. Strictly Necessary
one2two_lang one2two.co.tz Remembers your preferred interface language (Kiswahili, English, French, etc.) so you do not have to re-select it on every page load. 1 year. Strictly Necessary

3.2 Analytics Cookies

These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Service. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.

Cookie Name Provider Purpose Retention Category
_ga Google LLC (Google Analytics 4 / Universal Analytics) Used to distinguish unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. Included in each page request in a site and used to calculate visitor, session and campaign data for the site analytics reports. 2 years from date of last update. Analytics
_ga_<container-id> Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) Used to persist session state, recording how a user arrived at the site (direct, organic search, paid search, referral, email, social) and the sequence of pages visited within the session. 2 years from date of last update. Analytics
_gid Google LLC (Google Analytics) Used to store and count pageviews for a 24-hour session, providing daily aggregate reporting of unique visitors per day. 24 hours. Analytics
_gat Google LLC (Google Analytics) Used by Google Analytics to throttle the request rate — limiting the percentage of requests sent to Google on very high-traffic pages so the service does not overload Google servers or your browser. 1 minute. Analytics

3.3 Marketing / Targeting Cookies

These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners (currently none active). They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. At the moment, we do not actively use any Marketing cookies, but this category is reserved for future use so your choice is remembered if/when we integrate social share widgets, ad networks, or retargeting pixels.

Cookie Name Provider Purpose Retention Category
(none currently active) This category is reserved for future integrations (e.g., Facebook Pixel for conversion tracking, Google Ads remarketing). When any such cookies are activated, we will update this table and re-display the consent banner to all users with an updated policy version. Marketing

4. Third-Party Services and Their Own Policies

Some cookies and storage operations are performed by third-party service providers that act as independent data controllers. Please refer to their own privacy and cookie policies for detailed information on how they use your data:

5. How to Manage or Delete Cookies

You can exercise control over cookies at several levels — through our consent banner, your browser settings, and opt-out tools provided by analytics vendors.

  • Cookie Preferences Banner: at any time you can re-open and modify your consent choices by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of every public page. Changes take effect immediately and your new preferences are stored.
  • Browser Controls: most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. The links below explain how to access cookie settings on the most popular browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge.
  • Note on Strictly Necessary cookies: even if you set your browser to reject all cookies, many Strictly Necessary cookies (such as login/session cookies) will still be set during your visit because the Service cannot function without them. Please do not use the Service if this is not acceptable to you.
  • Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on: Google provides an official add-on that prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from reporting your visit, available for most major browsers at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) Opt-Out and Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) Self-Regulatory Program: for US visitors, NAI opt-out and DAA opt-out let you opt out of many behavioural advertising networks in one place.
  • European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) Your Online Choices: for EEA visitors, the Your Online Choices page lets you manage online behavioural advertising preferences across ad networks operating in the EU/EEA.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18 years of age and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that data from our systems and delete any cookies that may have been set by an account registered to a minor.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will (a) update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, (b) re-display the cookie consent banner to all visitors the next time they access the Service, and (c) where the changes materially alter the scope of data we collect or how we use it, provide additional prominent notice via email for registered account holders.
